Hello Everybody!
Another week, another Tuesday! I have exciting news to share today. I mentioned a yoga training that I was going through a couple of weeks ago. It was a one-month virtual yoga intensive program, and it finished up this last weekend. So, without further ado, I have completed my training to become a registered prenatal yoga teacher by Jennifer More at The Dolphin Method.
This certification is the next step in my yoga journey. I now have the knowledge to adapt my general yoga classes for prenatal and postnatal people and create programs specifically tailored to their needs. There is so much to know about the pregnant body and pregnancy in general. This training provided information about anatomy, hormones, birth, labor, and birthing preparation both physically and mentally. I am grateful for a deeper understanding of the entire process. You could say it was a mix between a pregnancy preparation class and yoga training.
I am passionate about women’s reproductive health and feel it can sometimes be difficult to receive information, support, and communication about what to expect and what is happening during pregnancy and birth. My goal is to be a conduit for information and a connection to other resources that may benefit my pregnant clients. This work is more profound than I expected it to be, but I am looking forward to being the best teacher I can be, especially during such a special time. I thought it would be good to know the basics of how to adapt a class safely for pregnant students, but I have found a calling to work specifically with pregnant students and adapt to their needs as their body changes throughout their pregnancy.
So, what does this mean for my yoga teaching practice? I am still going to provide public yoga classes on Facebook Live for free every Wednesday and Saturday. I am also now offering private yoga sessions, both general and prenatal/postnatal. These will be conducted over Zoom, so they are available for everybody, not only those in my direct community. If you would like more information about private lessons, you can respond to this email or contact me directly either by phone or Facebook. Please feel free to forward this email to your friends and family who may be interested in these services.
I have deep gratitude for every one of you in this yoga community. You give me the opportunity and support to teach this practice that means so much to me. I have now grown my knowledge to include continued services depending on where people may be in life. I thank you because, without your support, I would not have found my way to this work.
