Proud of the Progress

November 10, 2020

Hello!

I hope this week finds you well. I know that the last week here in America has been a hard one for many, regardless of political affiliation. Anxiety and tension have been thick, and that makes for some hard days. First, I want you to give yourself permission to feel what you feel. I know my last week wasn’t terribly productive, and I felt exhausted most of the week. Be kind to yourself; take some time to recharge.

Again, regardless of political affiliation, I want to acknowledge that it was a big week in history for women. We have elected the first-ever female vice president, and we should be damn proud of that. It is time that women are acknowledged, not for the reason that they are women, but for the reason that they are brilliant. Another incredible woman that caught my eye this week was Marie Curie. It was her birthday on November, 7th which placed the video below on my feed. Marie Curie was the first woman to receive a Nobel Peace Prize for her research and breakthroughs in radioactivity. Check out the video if you want to learn more. These are only a couple of examples of brilliant women, but what I know is there are far more than we could ever recognize because we are all brilliant. Today, be proud of the progress.

We are ten days into November, which means we have had ten opportunities to provide ourselves a moment of self-care in our self-care challenge. I will be honest; it has taken me some time to acknowledge the small things as part of the challenge. Now that I see the small things, I realize how many self-care moments I give myself throughout the day without even thinking about it. This is excellent news! Sometimes it’s an extra glass of water, a piece of chocolate, lighting a candle, a bath four days in a row, an additional chapter in the book you are reading that makes a difference.

I look forward to sharing this challenge with you for the rest of the month.

p.s. I am adding a Monday Zoom Yoga to the schedule at @6pm CST. This allows us the opportunity to talk face to face and practice together. If you are interested in joining, shoot me an email, and I can send you the link.

I will continue my Facebook live practices on Wednesdays. All classes are donation-based, so tell your friends and family to give it a try as well.
