Hello Everybody!
I hope you are staying warm this week. Unless you are rocking it in Florida, you don’t need warm wishes. This morning, I woke up with a drop in water pressure and a squealing shower pipe. Have to admit, I’m ignoring it. For the time being, it is still too early in the day for my brain to fully take on those responsibilities. I am not a morning person, to say the least. My time for creative energy and productivity falls in the late afternoon and evening. That being said, I have been trying to wake up just a little earlier to give myself more time to come to my senses in the morning and possibly squeak out a couple more hours from my day.
This new morning routine started about two weeks ago. So, I haven’t created a habit just yet, but I have found that there are a couple of things that make it easier to wake up. The first thing is my pour-over setup. I was worried anything other than a pour-over would be too loud and wake Craig, but I also didn’t want to go without coffee first thing. I also put a plant light on a timer in my bedroom to turn on like summer. Not for the plants, but for myself. The final thing I do to make my early mornings a little easier is make a list of what I would like to get done for the day the night before. All three are super simple but have made a difference.
I’m not here to convince you to wake up early. The “How to be a Successful Lady Boss” blogs have that covered. I’m here to remind you that you can do anything you want to do. The trick is to set yourself up to succeed. Find the small things that make it easier. If you would like to do more art, make sure you have the supplies beforehand. If you want to wake up earlier, find the routine that will make it easier. If you want to exercise more, set your exercise equipment out the night before. If you want to cook at home, make a dinner plan and get the groceries.
The setup process is just as important as the actual doing. I encourage you to take the time to find what will make the new activity a success. You can do what you set your mind to. Even if it’s just waking up an hour earlier, you are doing a fantastic job.
